Lightning beat Hurricanes 112-97

The London Lightning topped the Halifax Hurricanes 112-97 Sunday afternoon.

London edged the Hurricanes 24-23 at the end of the first quarter. During the second quarter, Halifax jumped ahead, but London quickly caught up and went into halftime one point behind.

In the third quarter, London and the Hurricanes played cat and mouse, only a few points ahead or behind one another. The Lightning surged ahead in the final quarter, and took a 15 point lead.

Maurice Bolden added 27 points for the Lightning while AJ Gaines helped out with 24 points and 14 rebounds. Marcus Capers had 12 assists, helping to secure a victory.

London will be at home to play the Sudbury Five on Thursday at 7 p.m.
