Six hospitalized after Elgin County crash

A two-vehicle crash east of St. Thomas sent six people to hospital on Sunday.

The Elgin County Ontario Provincial Police said the collision happened on Talbot line between Penhale Road and Powers Road around 6 p.m. According to police, a westbound minivan crossed the centre line and collided with an eastbound compact car. Several people had to be extricated from the vehicles. Four people in the minivan and two in the car were taken to hospital with injuries that ranged from minor to serious, but non-life threatening.

"Road and weather conditions were a factor in this collision," police said in a news release issued Monday.

Police are still investigating the collision.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
