Snowmobiler killed in crash north of Port Stanley

One person is dead after a crash involving a snowmobile north of Port Stanley.

Elgin OPP were notified about a missing snowmobiler around 12:25 a.m. Monday. Officers found the machine and its operator roughly seven hours later in the area of Munro Line and Bush Line.

The snowmobiler was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have identified him as Brad Jackson, 52, of Southwold Township.

Bush Line between Oneida Road and Boxall Road was closed for several hours while OPP technical collision investigators probed the circumstances of the crash. It has since re-opened.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
