Delivery driver follows GPS into farmer's field

A delivery driver from Hamilton may have trouble trusting technology in the future after directions from a GPS led their vehicle off the roadway and into a farmer's field.

The Ontario Provincial Police said on Saturday shortly before 3:47 p.m., the driver entered the field along Windham Road 7 in Windham and their vehicle became stuck in around six feet of mud.  Police arrived to find the driver, who told officers that they were in the process of delivering a package when the vehicle left the road.

The vehicle was eventually removed by a tow truck.

A 23-year-old from Hamilton has since been charged with failing to drive in a marked lane and has been issued a Provincial Offences Notice.
