Man charged after being arrested on consecutive days

A 22-year-old London man didn't waste any time in allegedly getting on the wrong side of the law again after being arrested last week.

According to London police, the man was arrested on Friday after the theft of a pickup truck. Police were called around 1:20 p.m. after the truck was stolen from a parking lot on York Street. Officer saw the truck going north on Richmond before it stopped at the train tracks near Piccadilly Street. The driver got out and ran north on Richmond before being arrested. He was later released from custody with a court date of March 5.

Around 10:05 a.m. the next morning, police were called after two men approached a car containing a woman and her 15-year-old son outside a hotel on Pall Mall Street. Police said the men tried to pull the teen from the car but were thwarted by bystanders. Police were called and the men were arrested. One of the men was the same suspect who had been arrested in connection with the previous day's pickup truck theft.

Hunter Alphonse Roberts, 22, of London is charged with theft of a motor vehicle, impaired driving, failing to comply with police, driving while under suspension, and robbery.

Joshua Joel Nelson, 25, of London is charged with robbery and possession of a Schedule 1 substance.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
