Overnight explosion causes $750K in damage

Fire officials are investigating a blaze that broke out at a London strip mall early Sunday morning.

Just before 1 a.m., crews arrived at the scene of a "suspicious" explosion and fire on Commissioners Road East near Adelaide Street South. Firefighters were able to contain the blaze to the unit of origin.

London police continued to guard the scene late Sunday morning and the Ontario Fire Marshall is expected to arrive Sunday afternoon to investigate.

Damage is estimated at around $750,000 and no injuries are being reported.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
