One taken to hospital following house fire

An investigation is underway after a fire broke out at a home in northwest London.

The London Fire Department was called to the blaze at 190 Wychwood Park shortly before 3 p.m. on Monday. Thick black smoke was seen coming from the two-storey home when fire crews arrived on scene. They were able to extinguish the fire and and ventilate the home.

One person suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital as a precaution.

Damage is estimated at $500,000.

While the fire isn't considered suspicious, the cause has not yet been determined.

An investigator with the Ontario Fire Marshal's office is expected to arrive on scene Tuesday.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
