Teen accused of setting off firecrackers in high school hallway

A 15-year-old from St. Thomas is in some hot water after firecrackers were set off inside a local high school.

St. Thomas police were called to the school for a reported disturbance over the noon hour on Wednesday. Video surveillance captured an individual lighting the noisemakers in a hallway. A teen suspect was identified using that video footage and was arrested on Thursday.

A 15-year-old, who cannot be identified due to their age, has since been charged with one count of mischief.

Police are also not publicly naming the high school the incident happened at in order to protect the identity of the accused.
