Man pulls hatchet during family dispute

A St. Thomas man has been charged after a hatchet was pulled during a heated family argument.

Several members of the same family were engaged in the dispute at a St. Thomas home on Monday when one allegedly began swinging a hatchet, St. Thomas police said.

The man with the hatchet tried to hit a 28-year-old family member before taking off from the home. He was arrested without incident a short time later.

A 30-year-old St. Thomas man has been charged with one count of assault with a weapon.

No one was hurt in the incident, police said.
