Charges laid in armed variety store robbery

A 42-year-old London man has been charged in connection with a knife-point robbery at a downtown variety store over the weekend.

It was around 7:10 a.m. on Sunday when a man walked into the Circle K at Dundas Street and Wellington Street and locked the door behind him. He then pulled a knife and demanded property from the store clerk before taking off, London police said.

The clerk was not physically hurt during the incident.

Officers were called and a suspect was arrested a short distance away. A knife and stolen property were recovered.

A 42-year-old London man is charged with armed robbery and disguise with intent. He is scheduled to appear in London court in regard to the charges on Monday.
