Simcoe resident assaulted during home invasion

Two people have been charged after a Simcoe resident was injured during a home invasion.

The Ontario Provincial Police said sometime between Sunday at 11 p.m. and Monday at 1 a.m., a man and a woman broke into the residence on Victoria Street and assaulted the homeowner.

The homeowner went to the hospital following the incident to be treated for undisclosed injuries and contacted police later on Monday morning.

As a result, Bradley Joseph Reaney, 35, of Norfolk County and Marsha Ann Ellwood, 45, of Haldimand County are charged with break and enter.  Reaney is additionally charged with aggravated assault.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
