Traffic stop ends with $50K fentanyl, meth seizure

What started as a call to investigate a suspicious vehicle in South-West Oxford Township, ended with provincial police seizing $50,000 worth of fentanyl and methamphetamine.

Officers responded to the suspicious vehicle call on Clarke Road around 9:45 a.m. on Thursday. The driver of the vehicle was quickly arrested and a search turned up purple fentanyl, methamphetamine, drug trafficking paraphernalia, and an undisclosed quantity of cash.

A 27-year-old Ingersoll man is charged with two counts of possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking, impaired driving, and failure to comply with a probation order.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
