St. Thomas man charged following collision

A 23-year-old St. Thomas man has been charged with dangerous driving after allegedly racing another vehicle and causing a collision.

St. Thomas police responded to the intersection of Talbot Street and Manor Road Saturday afternoon.

Police say two vehicles were racing each other east of Talbot Street towards Manor Road when one drivers attempted to cut off the other, and as a result, went into oncoming traffic and collided with a westbound car.

The accused was arrested at the scene for impaired driving but later passed all the drug recognition testing at police headquarters. He was released on a future court date.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
