UPDATE: City police respond to weapons call

A weapons investigation is ongoing, however, the area of King Street and Hewitt Street has been reopened to the public.

Police responded to the area at around 2:44 p.m. on Sunday and were still on scene at 7:19 p.m. conducting an ongoing investigation. The area reopened to the public around 2 a.m. on Monday.

Police said the investigation is in its early stages and that more information will be released as it becomes available.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
