Arrest made after weapons call

A London man is in police custody after a weapons investigation that saw officers descend on an east-end neighbourhood.

A 30-year-old man was in the area of King and Hewitt streets around 2:15 p.m. on Sunday when he was threatened with a knife by another man. The man with the knife then went into a nearby home and soon reappeared on the front porch with what looked like a long gun.

London police were called and uniformed officers and members of the emergency response unit flooded the area. Nearby roads were closed as a precaution.

Roughly nine hours later, police searched the home and arrested a man. A woman and youth were also arrested in relation to outstanding warrants. A replica firearm was seized by police.

No injuries were reported, police said.

The roads were reopened around midnight.

The investigation is ongoing.
