Shoppers duke it out over face masks at grocery store

Not wearing a face mask while shopping led to punches being thrown at a grocery store in Norfolk County.

Two customers began arguing about one's failure to wear a mask while at the store on Simcoe Street in Middleton around 8:15 a.m. on Monday. The war of words soon escalated into a physical fight.

OPP offices were called to the store, but the customers had left by the time officers arrived.

Police are now reviewing surveillance footage in an effort to identify the pair involved in the incident.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
