One dead in crash near St. Thomas

One person is dead and another is in hospital following a two-vehicle crash north of St. Thomas.

The Ontario Provincial Police said on Thursday at around 4:45 p.m., a car travelling south on Wellington Road crossed the centre line and collided with a northbound pickup truck.

Emergency crews responded to the crash and the driver of the southbound vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

OPP Technical Collision Investigators have responded to the scene and Wellington Road has been closed for an investigation.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
