Woodstock teen approached by suspicious man

Police in Woodstock are looking to speak with the driver of an older model four-door sedan that approached a teen as she was walking in the northwest-end of the city.

The 18-year-old was heading north on Light Street, near Drew Street around 4:40 p.m. on Wednesday when an older brown car slowed down while driving passed her. Roughly five minutes later, the vehicle passed by again, but this time the driver yelled to ask if the woman wanted a ride.

The vehicle left the area and the 18-year-old called police.

The male driver is described as Hispanic, approximately 45-years-old, with black short hair with curls on top. He was wearing a white and multi-coloured plaid collar shirt.

The vehicle is said to be an older model, four-door brown sedan that was longer at the front and modified to be a “low rider”. The vehicle is considered to be in good condition with no distinguishing markings, police said.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call police at 519-537-2323 or Crime Stoppers at 1- 800-222-TIPS (8477).
