Simcoe man charged with luring, sexually assaulting 15-year-old

A 37-year-old Simcoe man is accused of luring a 15-year-old he met online to a face-to-face meeting where the teen was sexually assaulted.

Huron OPP and the child sexual exploitation unit began investigating the assault in February after receiving information about the incident.

Investigators determined the teen had been engaging in sexually explicit online communications with an individual and agreed to meet in-person.

The 15-year-old was sexually assaulted during that in-person encounter, police said.

Jordan Cobb, 37, of Simcoe was arrested this week. He is charged with luring a person under the age of 16 by means of telecommunication, invitation to sexual touching, sexual assault, and sexual interference.

Cobb remains in police custody and is scheduled to make a court appearance in relation to the charges on Friday.
