Multi-vehicle crash sends five people to hospital

Police are investigating the cause of a three-vehicle crash that injured five people south of Woodstock.

The Ontario Provincial Police said on Friday shortly before 3:40 p.m., two pick up trucks and a car all collided at the intersection of Highway 59 and Talbot Road in Courtland.

Five people suffered various injuries and have been taken to hospital. Police at the scene said the injuries appeared to be minor in nature.

Highway 59 has been closed between Colonel Talbot Road and Talbot Road to allow officers to conduct an investigation. The road is expected to reopen sometime before 7 p.m.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
