Crews respond to structure fire in Byron

The London Fire Department (LFD) is reminding residents to use safe cooking practices following a structure fire in Byron Sunday afternoon.

LFD and Middlesex-London Paramedic Service responded to Griffith Street for a possible structure fire after 3 p.m.

Firefighters attacked the fire on the main floor of a multi-unit dwelling and were able to get the fire under control at around 3:30 p.m.

LFD says the building was evacuated, two people were assessed by paramedics and released, and that a fire investigator has been requested.
