Paramedic in hospital after being found 'unresponsive' in Dorchester

A paramedic with the Middlesex-London Paramedic Service (MLPS) is in hospital after being found unresponsive while on the job on Friday.

Few details about the incident have been released, but the paramedic service stated it happened early in the morning at the Dorchester station. It was also noted the paramedic was not responding to a 911 call at the time.

"MLPS staff treated, and transported to LHSC Victoria Campus where our paramedic is currently being cared for," Miranda Bothwell, MLPS spokesperson said in a statement.

The paramedic service has extended its thanks to the community through Twitter for messages of support and concern it has received for its paramedic since the incident.

The Ministry of Labour is investigating the medical emergency and confirmed the paramedic was found unresponsive.

The investigation is ongoing, the Ministry of Labour said.
