Two charged after gun, fentanyl seized

Two people face charges after London police seized a gun, bullets, and fentanyl during a traffic stop in east London.

Officers stopped a vehicle in the area of Oxford Street and Mornington Avenue on Thursday. The driver was arrested at the scene, while two passengers ran away. One was arrested a short distance away, while the other escaped.

"Members of the LPS Canine Unit assisted, and a firearm was located nearby," police said in a news release issued Friday. "A search of the vehicle yielded an additional three rounds of ammunition."

In all, police seized a loaded .22 calibre revolver, eight rounds of .22 ammunition, five grams of fentanyl, three cell phones, and two scales.

A 27-year-old man and a 26-year-old man, both of London, are charged.
