Driver charged after Porsche pulled over trying to tow hot tub

One person is facing charges after Woodstock police stopped a Porsche that was unsafely towing a hot tub on a homemade cart.

The Woodstock Police Service said on Wednesday at around 1:30 p.m., officers responded to calls about the vehicle in the area of 11th Line and eventually located the vehicle towing the hot tub.

“Had this hot tub became unattached from the homemade trailer that it was being towed on, would have caused serious damage and injury to anyone in its path," said Constable Marco D’Annibale of the Woodstock Police Traffic Unit.

A 54-year-old man is now charged with careless driving.

Police are urging all drivers to remember their responsibility to ensure that any load they are towing is done safely.
