Police investigate fatal home invasion

The London Police Major Crime Unit is investigating after an early morning home invasion that left one person dead.

Around 4:45 a.m. Sunday, police were contacted about suspicious individuals entering a residence in the area of  Pochard Lane and Woodfern Road and then fleeing shortly after.

When officers arrived at the scene they located a man who had suffered a gunshot wound. He was later pronounced deceased.

So far, no arrests have been made.

The investigation remains in its early stages and more information is expected to be provided when it becomes available, police said.

This is London's second homicide of the year. Owen Serieska, 16, was shot dead in an apartment at 580 Dundas St. on April 14. Jesse Joseph Winstanley, 19, is charged with manslaughter, possession of a loaded prohibited firearm, and unauthorized possession of a prohibited firearm in connection with Serieska's death.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
