Woodstock man identified as motorcyclist killed in weekend crash

A 46-year-old Woodstock man has been identified as the motorcyclist killed in a two-vehicle crash east of London.

Mark Doiron was operating a motorcycle on Highway 2 between Purple Hill Road and Heritage Road when his bike hit the back of a pickup truck around 8:15 p.m. on Saturday.

The pickup was attempting to turn when it was rear-ended, Middlesex OPP said.

Doiron was rushed to hospital where he later died from his injuries.

The occupants of the pickup truck were not hurt.

The crash kept the stretch of Highway 2 closed for several hours while police investigated the cause.

The investigation is ongoing, police said. They are asking anyone with information about the crash to call them at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
