One new COVID-19 case reported in London-Middlesex

The number of cases of COVID-19 in the London area has gone up by one.

The Middlesex London Health Unit reported just one new case of the virus on Tuesday. That brings the total since the pandemic began to 626. Two more recoveries were reported. A total of 507 people who were infected have recovered.

Once again, no deaths related to the coronavirus were reported in London or Middlesex County. The death toll remains at 57.

The outbreak at Westmount Gardens remains the only one long term care facilities or retirement homes in London and Middlesex County. In total, there have been 178 cases of COVID-19 in area long term care facilities and retirement homes in London and Middlesex County. Of those, 106 have been residents while 72 have been staff.

Provincially, health officials reported 157 new cases and seven new deaths on Tuesday. Ontario has now seen more than 35,000 cases and more than 2,600 deaths. More than 30,000 people have recovered.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
