Section of Egerton closed for railway work

Drivers in east London will have to navigate another detour this week.

Egerton Street between Brydges and Pine streets closed Tuesday morning to allow CN Rail to complete surface repairs on three railway crossings in the area.

The closure is expected to remain in effect for four days.

Detours have been set up for drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians.

Those heading southbound using Brydges Street will be detoured to Highbury Avenue North, and northbound traffic using Pine Street will be redirected to Hume Street and then Trafalgar Street.

The rail repair is the latest road closure to create slowdowns for commuters in the east-end of the city. Dundas Street between Hewitt and Ontario streets closed a week ago for the OEV reconstruction project. That closure will be in place until the end of the year.
