Charges laid after man with gun spotted at White Oaks Mall

A 53-year-old London man is facing charges after a shopper at White Oaks Mall spotted a man with what appeared to be a gun.

The witness was shopping at the south-end mall around 2:20 p.m. on Sunday when they saw the handle of a firearm along the man's waistband. Mall security was alerted and London police were called.

The man was arrested without incident roughly 20 minutes later.

An imitation firearm and prohibited knife were seized, according to police.

A 53-year-old man is charged with carrying a concealed weapon and possession of a prohibited weapon.

He is scheduled to appear in London court in relation to the charges on November 2.
