Man stabbed outside of east London pizzeria

London police are searching for a suspect after a man suffering from a stab wound stumbled into an east-end pizzeria on Monday night.

The man was walking on Hamilton Road, west of Rectory Street when he was approached by an acquaintance around 10 p.m. The acquaintance is said to have stabbed the man before taking off.

The victim, whose injuries were described as serious but non-life threatening, was able to go inside the nearby pizza place for help. Paramedics were called and the man was taken to hospital where he remained on Tuesday in fair condition.

Police searched the area but did not find the suspect. Investigators do not believe this was a random incident.

The investigation is in its early stages. Police are asking anyone with information to call them at 519-661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
