Single-vehicle crash claims life of Londoner

A young London man has died after his vehicle went off the road just west of the city.

According to the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial police, around 9:52 p.m. on Wednesday, officers were called to a report of a vehicle in the ditch on Gainsborough Road between Franks Lane and Vanneck Road.

"Upon arrival, police located a male in the vehicle with life-threatening injuries," police said in a news release issued Thursday. "The victim was extricated from the vehicle, but succumbed to his injuries. The coroner pronounced the victim dead at the scene."

The victim has been identified as Cole Budd, 23, of London.
