Store owner interrupts robbery

Provincial police are investigating a robbery at a store in Simcoe that ended with the business owner chasing down the suspects.

It happened around 5:40 a.m. on Sunday when two unknown suspects forced their way into a Robinson Street business.

Once inside, the suspects began to smash glass cases, which woke up the store owner who was sleeping at a residence nearby.

According to police, the owner confronted the pair who then became involved in a physical confrontation. The owner then chased the suspects and was able to recover most of the stolen items.

The first suspect is described as wearing a red hooded sweater with red shorts and red shoes. The second suspect is described as wearing dark clothing. Both fled from the area and were last seen running westbound on Robinson Street.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
