Two charged in break-ins

Two London men are facing charges after vehicles and a shipping container were broken into east of the city.

The Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police said officers were called to a property on Dundas Street in Thames Centre just after 8 a.m. on Tuesday. An alert citizen saw two men entering several vehicles and a shipping container. The men were also seen throwing items at passing vehicles before taking off in an SUV.

"Members of the Middlesex OPP responded to the area where the vehicle was later located at a gas station in Thamesford," police said in a news release. "One male was taken into custody at the scene and a second fled the area on foot. The second male was taken into custody by police a short time later."

The two men face a long list of charges, including breaking and entering, possession of a controlled Schedule 1 substance, and failing to comply with a release order.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
