Fire destroys barn at Woodstock Fairgrounds

One barn was destroyed and three others damaged after a fire broke out at the Woodstock Fairgrounds.

Firefighters were called to the fairgrounds in the area of Nellis Street between Clarke and Arthur streets just before 7 p.m. on Tuesday.

Fire crews spent several hours battling the blaze. Residents were asked to avoid the area for much of the night.

There were no animals inside any of the barns and no one was hurt.

A damage estimate has not been provided.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
