St. Thomas man shoved, groceries stolen

Charges have been laid after a man was pushed down and robbed in a St. Thomas parking lot.

The man was carrying a bag of items he had just purchased on Thursday when he encountered another man in a Talbot Street parking lot who is alleged to have shoved him. The man then took off with the victim's bag.

St. Thomas police were called and arrested a 50-year-old man in connection with the robbery on Friday. He is charged with one count of robbery and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

The victim was not hurt.

Police have said this was an isolated incident as the two men were known to each other.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
