London man seriously hurt in crash near Komoka

A single-vehicle crash west of London has left one person in hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Middlesex OPP were called about the serious collision at the intersection of Carriage Road and Gideon Drive near Komoka around 9:44 p.m. on Monday. The vehicle had been heading north on Carriage when it went through a stop sign. The vehicle then went off the road and rolled down a ravine.

The driver and lone occupant of the vehicle, a 52-year-old London man, had to be cut from the wreckage. He was rushed to hospital with injuries described as life-threatening.

The intersection was closed for roughly seven hours while police investigated the cause of the crash. It has since been reopened.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
