Teen charged after pizzeria break-in

A break-and-enter at a London pizzeria has resulted in charges for a 17-year-old.

London police say an officer was flagged down by a bystander around 8 a.m. Wednesday. The person told officers they saw a male leaving a pizzeria on Richmond Street near Dundas Street. A description of the suspect was provided and the person was soon arrested.

The suspect was searched and an amount of cash was found. Through investigation, which included a review of surveillance footage in the area of Dundas and King Streets, it was determined that a cash register was stolen from the pizzeria earlier.

The suspect, who has been charged with break-and-enter, is not being named under the provisions of the  Youth Criminal Justice Act. The suspect was released with a court appearance scheduled for January 4, 2021.
