Teen charged in knife attack

London police say a youth is facing charges after a father was assaulted while out for a walk with his family.

According to police, around 10:50 a.m. on Sunday, October 4, the victim was walking with his wife and two daughters on Dundas Street near Adelaide Street when they came upon a teenaged male.

"They were involved in an argument with the youth in relation to communication with one of the daughters," police said. "The individuals were not known to each other prior to this incident."

Police say the teen pulled out a knife and assaulted the man with it. He ran away when 911 was called.

The victim was taken to hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

Police wre able to identify a suspect and a 15-year-old was arrested. He is charged with assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, and carrying a concealed weapon.

He is to appear in court next week.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
