Man threatened with knife during east-end argument

A 42-year-old London man is facing charges after a dispute between two men escalated with one threatening the other with a knife.

A man standing outside of his home on Hilton Place got into a verbal argument with a male acquaintance on Wednesday. As the exchange became heated, the acquaintance is alleged to have pulled out a knife and damaged the man's vehicle.

The victim was then threatened before the other man lunged at him with the weapon.

A London police sergeant, who was doing a routine patrol of the area, spotted the incident and ended up running after the man alleged to have had a knife.

According to police, the man was able to ditch the weapon during the chase before being arrested. A knife was later found in the area by officers.

No injuries were reported.

Trevor Lacey, 42, is charged with assault with a weapon, uttering threats, and mischief under $5,000. He is scheduled to appear in court on January 13.
