UPDATE: Severe thunderstorm warning ended for London, Middlesex

A tornado watch and a severe thunderstorm warning have ended for London and Middlesex County.

Environment Canada upgraded a special weather statement to a severe thunderstorm warning Friday afternoon, warning of potentially damaging storms later in the day. The warning ended at around 7:15 p.m.

Wind gusts of 90 km/h, frequent lightning, and torrential downpours were reportedly possible with the storms.

The tornado watch was also issued for the region at around 3 p.m. It ended shortly before 7 p.m.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
