A London overpass famous for both being hit by large trucks and a go-around for train dodging drivers is undergoing some restoration work.
CP Rail began work on the Talbot Street bridge at 7 a.m. on Monday. The restoration is expected to take two days to complete.
While crews are performing the needed work, Talbot Street between Oxford Street East and Piccadilly Street will be closed to all drivers, cyclists and pedestrians.
Detour signage has been setup redirecting southbound drivers to Oxford Street East, Richmond Street, and Central Avenue. Northbound road users are being diverted to Central Avenue, Richmond Street and Oxford Street East.
The Talbot Street bridge is frequently dinged and dented by large trucks when drivers miscalculate the distance between the road and the bridge, as well as the height of their vehicle.
Talbot Street is expected to reopen at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
