Charges laid after replica handgun seized

A 23-year-old London man is facing charges after a man armed with what appeared to be a gun was seen outside of an east-end coffee shop.

A citizen told London police they saw a man get out of a vehicle with three other people in the parking lot of a Tim Hortons on Adelaide Street North near Oxford Street around 11:50 p.m. on Sunday. The man then approached a pickup truck while holding a gun.

A description of the suspect and the suspect vehicle were given to police. Officers stopped a vehicle matching the description on Oxford Street and arrested a suspect.

A replica handgun was also seized.

A London man, 23, is charged with pointing a firearm and using an imitation firearm during the commission of an indictable offence. He is scheduled to appear in London court on January 29.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
