Highbury crash leaves one in hospital

Provincial police say a driver is fighting for their life in hospital after a crash involving an SUV and a dump truck.

The collision happened around 10:30 a.m. Friday on Highbury Avenue between Thomson Line and Truman Line in Elgin County. According to the OPP, the driver of the SUV was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the dump truck suffered minor injuries.

Police closed Highbury Avenue between Thomson Line and Truman Line. It re-opened just after 4 p.m.

An investigation into the cause of the collision is underway.
