Traffic delays possible on Highway 3

Provincial police are warning motorists in Aylmer that traffic delays are possible on Highway 3 on Saturday due to protests in the area.

According to OPP, "protest activities in the area may periodically delay or interrupt the normal flow of traffic and at times traffic may be re-routed off of Highway #3."

The delays are anticipated between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday at the west end of Aylmer.

OPP said its objective is to maintain the safe flow of traffic as well as work with those who may be organizing protest events in order to help ensure a safe and peaceful experience.

OPP did not specify what the protest is for, however, a state of emergency was declared in Aylmer earlier this week in response to a second "anti-masking freedom march” that is scheduled to take place in the town on Saturday.

Motorists are advised to check in advance for road advisory information
