Worker threatened, pelted with rocks

A St. Thomas man is facing assault charges after a worker at a local business was threatened and hit with rocks.

The employee had asked a man to leave the unidentified, north-end business on Friday. The man refused and allegedly threatened to kill the staffer. It was at this time, the man began throwing "good-sized" rocks at the employee, St. Thomas police said.

Officers arrived at the business and arrested a 45-year-old man. A search of the man turned up a small quantity of suspected methamphetamine, according to police.

A 45-year-old St. Thomas man has since been charged with assault with a weapon, uttering threats, and possession of a controlled substance.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
