TVDSB confirms third case of COVID-19 at Woodstock school

Southwestern Public Health (SWPH) has identified another case of COVID-19 at Northdale Public School in Woodstock.

This marks the third case of the virus identified at the school in less than two weeks, though SWPH does not believe the case was contracted from within the school. Northdale will remain open, and school buses will continue to operate.

The Thames Valley District School Board (TVDSB) said it has informed all staff, parents, and guardians within the school community, and the local health unit is also working to identify anyone who has come into close contact with the infected individuals.

“If you are not contacted by the health unit, your child is not considered to be at risk. The health unit will only contact those staff and students who have been identified as a close contact, and will advise them to stay home from school and quarantine for a period of 14 days,” the school board said in a news release.

TVDSB said it is following all health and safety protocols recommended by SWPH to keep staff and students safe. All confirmed active cases can be tracked on its website.
