London man charged with armed robbery

A 59-year-old London man has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery at a pharmacy on Adelaide Street North.

Police said a robbery at 1080 Adelaide St. N was reported Tuesday afternoon around 2 p.m.

The 59-year-old allegedly locked the doors once inside of the pharmacy, flashed a knife, and demanded prescription medication.

Officers arrested the male suspect while inside the pharmacy and seized a knife.

London police said no injuries were reported.

The accused was charged with armed robbery, two counts of forcible confinement, and failure to comply with the release order. He is still in police custody and is scheduled to appear in London court on Wednesday.
