Three charged in break-in at community centre construction site

London police say three people face charges after a break-in at the site where the new East London Community Centre is being built.

Police were called to a construction site at 1731 Churchill Ave. in East Lions Park around 1:20 a.m. Thursday. When they arrived, they saw three people inside the secure site. All three took off, but two were captured by officers while a third was taken into custody after a search of the area by the London Police K-9 Unit.

Police say a prohibited knife was seized.

A 27-year-old man, a 54-year-old man, and a 29-year-old man, all from London, are charged with break and enter with intent.

The 27-year-old is also facing weapons charges.

All three are to appear in court in February.
