Pedestrian fatally struck by truck in Woodstock

An investigation is underway after a Brampton man was struck and killed by a transport truck in Woodstock.

On Saturday, around 2:30 p.m., emergency crews responded to a business parking lot on Commerce Way for reports of a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian.

The pedestrian, 29-year-old Manpreet Bhullar, was pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident.

According to Woodstock police, the initial investigation revealed that a transport truck struck a pedestrian that was in the area of the truck when it was pulling away.

Members of the Woodstock Traffic Reconstruction Investigation Unit, along with the assistance of the Ontario Provincial Police and the Ministry of Labour will continue with the investigation.

No charges have been laid at this time pending further investigation.
