Residents escape house fire without injury

The residents of a house that went up in flames south of Ingersoll Sunday afternoon were able to escape unharmed.

The home on Salford Road was engulfed in flames when fire crews and Oxford OPP arrived on scene. Thick smoke billowed from the home and could be seen for quite a distance.

Salford between Plank Line and Duffy Line had to be closed for several hours while fire crews worked to extinguish the blaze.

No occupants of the home, including pets, were injured, OPP said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

A damage estimate has yet to be released.
